Here at cdbdi (See the beady eyes!) Vicky specialises in designing and making personalised soft toys and thoughtful gifts from beautiful lambswool. The lambswool which comes from Denby Dale in Yorkshire is machine knitted, washed, wind dried and steam ironed to create quality fabric to make cuddly soft toys that are built to last and be handed down to the next generation. The soft toys are also stuffed using pure wool, also from Yorkshire!
I'm a member of The Campaign for wool which helps promote the many benefits of using wool. Wool is perfect for asthma and allergy sufferers, it is sustainable, biodegradable, naturally fire resistant, easy to clean, breathable and non-allergenic which makes for long lasting but soft and huggable toys.
The ever growing collection now includes useful gifts for adults and dachshund lovers, inspired by my constant companion, our mini wire haired dachshund!
I started the business because i struggled to find any British-made, non mass produced dragons for our two boys.
The beautiful lambswool material came from a friend who made clothes from it and gave me her offcuts to try making toys with. As cdbdi ( See the beady eyes! ) grew i began making the material myself with the help of lovely Mandy and her knitting machine. The toys have been bought for adults as well as children and i'm happy to say are keeping cosy in beds all over the world!
To make the toys an even more special gift for Christening, Birthday or Christmas they can have a hand sewn name embroidered on, this is £5 extra.
